Aronlight — Product Dependency Rules

Any LED strip product:

One power supply from the list below — the right one for the total load. The four options cover different wattage ranges; the system picks the smallest that covers the job.

LED strips run on 24V DC current. Standard wall power is 220V AC. A power supply converts 220V AC into 24V DC. Without it, the strip physically cannot turn on — it is an electrical law, not a guideline.

To pick the right power supply, the system needs to know the total wattage of all strips in the order. The steps:

1. Count all strip rolls in the order (e.g. 30 rolls of ILAR-00620)
2. Look up watts per meter for that strip SKU (e.g. ProStrip 24V = 14.4W/m)
3. Multiply: 30 rolls × 5m × 14.4W/m = 2,160W total
4. Add 20% safety buffer: 2,160 × 1.20 = 2,592W
5. Suggest the smallest power supply that covers 2,592W

2.5 profiles per strip roll. Each roll is 5m. Each profile is 2m. So 5m of strip needs 2.5 × 2m profiles = 5m of channel. Confirmed by SMARTEC order: 30 rolls (150m) + 75 profiles (150m) — exact coverage.

The aluminium profile is the channel that the strip sits inside. It protects the strip from damage and diffuses the light so you see even illumination rather than individual LED dots. For visible architectural installations (retail, hospitality, residential), strip is never left bare.

When a strip installation spans multiple segments or turns a corner, connectors join the strip sections together without soldering. The connector must match the strip exactly — wrong width or wrong IP rating means it won't fit or won't be waterproof.

The reviewer is alerted that emergency units should accompany a main luminaire installation — and vice versa for large commercial projects.

Portuguese and Spanish building codes require emergency lighting in all commercial spaces (hospitals, offices, schools, public areas). Emergency units are almost never sold as a standalone installation — they always accompany a main lighting project. The 54% of emergency orders without luminaires in our dataset are retrofit jobs into existing non-Aronlight installations.

The Aro is the frame that sits around the panel when it is recessed into the ceiling. Without it, the panel sits surface-mounted with exposed cut edges showing. For a flush, finished ceiling look, the Aro is mandatory. It is also size-specific — 300×1200mm only fits 300×1200mm panels.

The Thane is designed to hang from the ceiling — it is a pendant light. The suspension kit contains the cable and the ceiling canopy (the part that hides the cable entry into the ceiling). The product is physically unusable without it: there is nothing to hang it with.

A bare GU10 bulb installed into a recessed ceiling hole leaves the hole edge exposed and unfinished. The trim ring (Aro) sits around the bulb and covers the hole edge for a clean, finished look. Not needed for track spotlights or surface-mounted fittings — only for recessed ceiling holes.

DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) is a lighting control protocol that lets a building management system dim lights, set scenes, and read status. A DALI luminaire needs a DALI-compatible driver to receive those commands over the control bus. A standard driver cannot receive DALI signals — it will simply ignore them and the control system won't work.

Panels designed to drop into a suspended ceiling grid need a bracket when installed on a solid ceiling instead. The bracket holds the panel flat against the solid ceiling surface. It is size-specific — the 300×600mm bracket only physically fits 300×600mm panels.

The Meller downlight is sold as two separate SKUs by design. The body is the light source — it sits recessed inside the ceiling cavity and is completely hidden once installed. The trim ring (Espelho, literally "mirror" in Portuguese) is the visible face plate the customer actually sees from the room. Aronlight sells them separately so customers can choose the finish (black or white) independently of the light source. You always need both — the body without the trim ring is invisible but unfinished; the trim ring without the body has nothing to light.
